Colourful abstract landscapes from Somerset to Tasmania. Kate Cochrane’s colourful portrayal of Tasmania radiates a joyful sense of place leading the viewer into rich textured landscapes. Jason Nosworthy deconstructs elements of landscape towards abstraction creating depth with ambiguity.

COUNTRYSIDE, GARDEN & ALLOTMENT
Paintings inspired by daily life in the countryside, the garden and on the allotment. Jenny works from on site drawings and things remembered, in a style that ranges from figurative to a more imagined view. She has been a potter, illustrator and now painter, and always a gardener, which is where the inspiration for her paintings comes from. She works in oils, acrylics and gouache and will be exhibiting paintings, prints and cards.

Local watercolour artist Moish Sokal is back for his 24th annual summer exhibition at the Malthouse Gallery, East Lambrook Manor Gardens. This year’s exhibition features new work from New Zealand, Scotland, the Lake District and of course Somerset. Not to be missed!
The exhibition runs from Sunday 3rd June (Preview) to Sunday 22nd July.
The exhibition is open 10.00am to 5.00pm Tuesday to Sunday when the garden is open, closed on Mondays. Entry to the exhibition is free.

Colour & Steel features the work of six exciting Somerset artists and includes a diverse range of paintings from abstract to impressionistic landscapes, plus a stunning collection of metal garden sculptures. Artwork by Ashar, Annie Musgrove, Caroline Mornement, Jane Brossard, John Gammans and garden sculptures by Chris Kampf. The exhibition is in the Malthouse Gallery and Studio with Kampf’s garden sculptures also displayed outside in the gardens.

CLIVE MELBOURNE AND SUE DETAIN

BIRDS, OCEANS AND FLOWERS
Somerset artists Sheila Bowman and Lee Allen join wood carver and engraver Peter Waterfall
Bird carvings, oceans and flowers are just some of the subjects of the paintings and wood carvings on show.
Sheila is inspired by natural forms and her abiding love is painting watercolours of flowers, birds, and scenes including rivers and sea water - plus some quirky scarecrows!
Lee has painted many portraits of people and animals over the years and now shows a range of subjects from landscape to interiors often including figures and animals such as chickens.
Peter is a craftsman in wood especially enjoying locally sourced and driftwood to sculpt sea birds, waders, and ducks and engraving wood blocks to create prints of birds, trees and landscapes.
